Weekly Geeks #19 – Best of 2008

September 28th, 2008

This week’s challenge is to make a list of the best books of 2008 that I’ve read.

1. In Defense of Food: An Eater’s Manifesto by Michael Pollan
2. Real World by Natsuo Kirino

Yeah, it’s a really short list. To be honest, I tend to wait for the paperback to come out. I’ve read a few other books that were officially published in hardcover in 2008, but I can’t recommend them. I’ve read many paperback books that came out in 2008. Let the Northern Lights Erase Your Name comes to mind. But this challenge is about books that came out in hardcover in 2008.

So, I have about three months left to read books from 2008. Any suggestions?

Yay, another vote for Pollan! all his stuff is good, if you’ve not read any others.

I am so far behind on reading books released this year. The Heretic’s Daughter was a good book and made my list. So did Daoud Hari’s The Translator. I am looking forward to books still to be released this year, I am really curious about John Updike’s book The Widows of Eastwick.

I read a LOT of ARCs this year, so I had many books to choose from. Maybe you’ll like a few on my list? http://presentinglenore.blogspot.com/2008/09/best-books-of-2008.html
